510 SPICE MAKING TRAINING FOR SLUM WOMEN

14-Feb-2019, Koregaon Park (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Koregaon Park organized a training programme on spice making for 18 Self-Help Group women residing in the Laxminagar slum in Pune. The idea being to help women to raise their family income by taking up spice making as a business activity. This training workshop was organized under the aegis of ‘Women empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Mrs. Rohini Jawalkar was the trainer for this training. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Co-ordinator-DBDS) welcomed all the participants and resources person and shared the objective of the programme. Mrs Rohini Jawalkar taught the production process of following 10 types of spices:

1. Kanda Lahsun masala.
2. Sambar masala.
3. Mutton masala.
4. Biryani Masala.
5. Pulav Masala.
6. Tea Masala.
7. Goda Masala.
8. Chat masala.
9. Pavbhaji Masala.
10. Garam Masala.

Mr. Nagsen then took a session on various aspects of business like marketing, sales, product branding, promotion, customer care service, customer data management, product advertising, product costing, profit, product price, and many other things which are related to business. Ms. Nilima Chandare (Staff-DBDS) took a full review of the training programme and gave vote of thanks.
