520 ADOLESCENT HEALTH TRAINING FOR SCHOOL GIRLS

21-Feb-2019, Koregaon Park (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Koregaon Park organized a training session on adolescent health for 48 girls of Govindrao Thite School. This training workshop was organized under the aegis of ‘Women empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

The session started at 11.00 am and concluded at 1.00 pm. School Principal Mr. Gavade and class teacher introduced the topic to their students. Ms. Nilima Chandhare (Trainer-DBDS) and Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator-DBDS) were the resource persons. They covered following topics in their session:

· Physical, psychological and emotional changes.

· Female reproductive system, cleanliness

· acceptance of body, growth process, positive attitude

· Handling stress, social taboos, dealing with shyness and perception

· Use of sanitary napkins etc

Students asked many questions which were all answered by the resource persons. After the session Dettol soap was distributed to all. Program ended with vote of thank by Mrs. Priya Sonawane (Staff -DBDS)
