Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), 6-April-2019: The Bosco Vikas Gramin Kendra (BGVK), Ahmednagar successfully implemented ‘drinking water project’ for the children of nomadic tribes in the Harewadi village at Ahmednagar. Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – Don Bosco Development Society) while speaking on the occasion placed on record his sincere thanks to Rev. Fr Mark Hyde and all the benefactors of Salesian Missions – New Rochelle (USA) for sponsoring this project.

This project has directly benefited 350 children who reside in the hostel. Fr George D’Abreo (Director – BGVK) said that, “through this project we were able to install a heavy-duty water purifier machine, a water cooler, two massive storage tanks and also construct a separate tin-shed for the entire unit – now with these facilities the children will have access to safe drinking water”. All the children in this hostel are from poor families belonging to various nomadic tribes who keep wandering with their cattle and belonging in the central Maharashtra region.

The cool and safe drinking water brought a million-dollar smile on the faces of these under-privileged children.
