592 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Teacher’s Training workshop

Mumbai, 3-May-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a teacher’s training workshop for the part time teachers. 25 teachers and project staff participated in this training which was organized under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by MAHANAGAR GAS LIMITED (MGL).

Fr. Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director- DBDS) in his opening address welcomed Mr Nishant Kumar Sinha (CSR Manager- MGL) and Ms Namita (Assistant CSR - MGL), part time teachers and project staff. In his speech he thanked MGL for supporting this project. Mr Nishant was the Resource person for this training programme. In his interactive session he gave an introduction of Mahanagar Gas Limited’s CSR policy and the purpose of MGL Disha project.

After that Mr Nishant gave valuable inputs on learning process, child psychology, preparing teaching- learning material, lesson plans and classroom management. His focus was on developing the creativity and originality of children and how teacher can help in this process. The participants asked many questions which were all answered by him.

After lunch Mr Mahesh Kumar (Senior Program Manager - DBDS) conducted a session on documentation and report writing. He also taught the teachers how to measure progress of a child and document it. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer – DBDS).
