611 Financial Literacy Training in Yerwada Slum

Koregaon Park (Pune), 15-May -2019:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Koregaon Park organized a workshop on ‘Savings, Investment and Insurance Planning’ for women from low income group residing at Mother Teresa Nagar in Yerwada. 19 women participated in this workshop which was organized under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Mrs. Priya Sonwane (Staff -DBDS) welcomed the participants and resource person. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Co-ordinator - DBDS) was the resource person for the training. He urged the participants to save money and invest smartly so that they could have good returns from the investments. He gave information on following:

· Term Deposits
· Recurring deposit
· Public Provident Fund
· National Saving Certificate
· Kisan Vikas Patra
· Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana
· Post office insurance scheme
· Ponzy schemes
· Investment in Gold

The participants asked questions which were all answered by the resource person. Ms. Nilima Chandhare (Staff -DBDS) proposed vote of thanks at the end.
