632 MGL Disha Project: Income Generation Training at Mahim

Mumbai, 17-June-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a Two days training workshop on ‘Indian Spices Making Business’ on 17&18 June 2019 for the women from Prakash Nagar slum in Mahim (W), Mumbai. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by MAHANAGAR GAS LIMITED

Ms. Kavita Kamble (Staff - DBDS) welcomed the resource person. Mrs. Vidhya Agawane was the resource persons for spice making. The objective of this training was to impart skill and knowledge on spice making as micro business. 22 women completed the entire training. During the training six different kinds of spices were taught to participants. This included Fish masala, Biryani Masala, Special Garam Masala, Sambar Masala, Chole Masala Mouton Masala etc.

After this training Mr. Keshav Kamble (Retired CVO- KVIC) trained women on entrepreneurship and business management. He included topics such as marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. The participants dedicatedly learnt the skills and were determined to start-up a small business. Raw material was also distributed to participants to help them in starting their business. At the conclusion of the workshop Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project officer – DBDS) proposed the vote of thanks.
