644 GRADUATION DAY: 441 Students Complete their Skills Training

Mumbai, 20-June-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized the graduation day ceremony for the students who successfully completed the vocational skills training. 441 students were felicitated in the gala ceremony held in the Bianchi Hall of the Don Bosco International School. 

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) welcomed the guests and audience. Speaking on the occasion he encouraged the students to set high goals and make strategy to achieve them. The dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Saurabh Tripathi (Deputy Commissioner of Police - Mumbai) and Mr. Nishant Kumar Sinha (Manager-CSR, Mahanagar Gas Limited).

Students who received the certification were trained in different skills like Computer Operator, Basic Tally, Spoken English, Tailoring and Garment Making, Beautician (Hair), Beautician (Skin). Almost all the students were from economically marginalized background. The duration of these courses ranged from 30 days to 3 months.

Dr. Tripathi expressed his joy after seeing so many women being empowered through these skills. He further added the need of being a responsible citizens and how especially the youth ought to be more responsible with the media they use. Mr. Nishant encouraged the students with his motivational speech. He emphasised on using the skills in improving their quality of life. After the event sumptuous snacks were served to all.
