647 HEALTH RISKS AWARENESS SESSION FOR ADOLESCENT GIRLS

Koregaon Park (Pune), 12-July-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized an interactive session on ‘Physiological and Socio-Psychological Changes’ for the adolescent girls of Nana Saheb School in Yerwada slum in Pune. The workshop was held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain. 39 girls participated in the session.

The objective of this workshop was to create awareness on the physiological and psychological changes taking place during the adolescent age in girls. Ms Nilima Chandare was the resource persons who spoke on the physical and mental changes, health, hygiene and social aspect of adolescent period. She also covered topics on vulnerability to risky situation like sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS and drug and substance abuse. After the session Dettol soap was distributed to all the participants.
