667 FOUR-DAY CAKE MAKING TRAINING FOR SLUM WOMEN

Koregaon Park (Pune), 30-June-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a training workshop on ‘Cake Making’ from 27th June to 30th June for the women Self-help Group (SHG) members residing in the slums of Wadgaon Sheri in Pune. This training program was held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Ms Nilima Chandare (Staff-DBDS) introduced the trainer and explained the objectives of the training. The objective of the training was to motivate women to acquire skills and knowledge to initiate income generation activity to increase their household income. Ms Shweta Walhekar was the trainer for cake making training program. 6 types of cake making was taught in this training program which included Pineapple, Black forest, Vanilla, Rum ball, Chocolate and Mava cake. 20 SHG Women participated in this cake making training program.

Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator) took the session on business training. He taught market survey, purchasing, product quality and standard, making product branding, costing, marketing, promotion etc. Training program ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Priya Sonawane (Staff-DBDS).
