669 ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN: Health Risk Awareness Session

Chinchwad (Pune), 11-July-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized an awareness and interactive session on ‘Harmful Effects of Tobacco and Gutkha Chewing’ for the youth at Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 31 people (young and senior) participated in this workshop held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

Dr. Narayan Jaibhai was the resource person for this workshop. The objective of this workshop was to educate youth on the risky habit of consuming tobacco products and harmful effects of such habit. The resource person covered various topics on composition of tobacco, forms of tobacco, harmful effects on body and mind, oral cancer, lung cancer and many more health problems associated with it.

The participants asked many questions which were answered by the resource person. Mrs. Vibhwari Kamble (Staff- DBDS) did the logistical arrangement for this session and organized youths to participate in this session. After the session snacks were served to everyone.
