Chinchwad (Pune), 26-July-2019:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Chinchwad, organized a street play titled ‘Tambaku ki Aadat, Cancer ko Daavat’ in the Mahatama Phule Nagar slum. This street play was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

The aim of this street play was to create awareness on the health risks associated with tobacco consumptions and its effect on person and family. It highlighted the fact that easy availability of tobacco products and encouragement from peers, family etc. makes young people addicted to smoking and chewing tobacco.

The street play portrayed the ordeal which the family members undergoes whose head is a smoker. How the family suffers due to his smoking habit and falls into the debt trap and eventually the person suffers from lungs damage and loses life. It beautifully captured the harmful effects to tobacco consumption.
