696 HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION FOR ADOLESCENT SLUM GIRLS

Koregaon Park (Pune), 3-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society organized a training session on “physical and mental health” for the adolescent girls residing in Mohanwadi slum in Yerwada. 37 adolescent girls participated in this session which was part of women empowerment project supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Ms Nilima Chandare (Trainer- DBDS) was the resource persons for the session. The session dealt with physical changes, anatomy of reproductive organs, hormonal changes, stress, early marriage, HIV/AIDS, STDs, nutrition, personal hygiene etc. In the question-answer session participants asked questions which were all answered by the resource person. Dettol soap was given to participant after the session. Program ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Jyoti Sonawane (Staff-DBDS). Parents of the participants appreciated the approach of Don Bosco on this issue.
