Chinchwad, 9-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Chinchwad, organized two street plays titled ‘Tambaku ki Aadat, Cancer ko Daavat’ in Ram Nagar & Datta Nagar slums. This street plays were held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

Ram Nagar and Datta Nagar slums have substantial population addicted to one or more form of tobacco. The aim of this street play was to create awareness on the health risks associated with tobacco consumptions and its effect on person and family. It highlighted the fact that easy availability of tobacco products, active and passive encouragement from peers and family makes young people addicted to smoking and chewing tobacco.

The street play portrayed the ordeal which the family members undergoes whose head consumes tobacco. The street play was followed by a group discussion in which people from the locality participated and they all condemned the habit of consuming tobacco.
