707 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Income Generation Training for Slum Women

Mumbai, 14-Aug-2019 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a two-days training workshop on ‘production of domestic cleaning products’ for 30 women from Panjabi camp slum in Sion-Koliwada. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited. 

Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer - DBDS) welcomed the guests, resource person and the participants and explained the objectives of the training. Mrs. Ashwini Kharatmol was the resource persons for this workshop. During the training, the participants learnt to make seven different kinds of ‘domestic cleaning products’. These products included Phenyl, Detergent, Hi-tech powder, Hand wash, Dish wash, Floor Cleaner and Toilet Cleaner.

Apart from teaching the production process, the resource person also taught marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. The participants dedicatedly learnt the skills and also discussed on starting a small business. Ms. Basanti Solanki (Staff-DBDS) mobilized the women to attend the training programme and also proposed the vote of thanks.
