Chinchwad (Pune), 10-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a five days training workshop during 6th-10th August on ‘cooking & catering skills’ for the Self-Help Group (SHG) women residing in the Vidya Nagar slum in Chinchwad. This training was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 

Ms. Lalita Chaudhari (Coordinator-DBDS) introduced the Resource Persons and shared information about the project with the participants. The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the families connected to this project. 17 SHG women completed the entire training. The training was held in association with ‘Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya’ which is a government recognized training institution.

Mrs. Varsha Atole (Sr. Technical staff) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (Jr. Technical Staff) were the resource persons. During the training 15 different kinds of recipes were taught to participants. These included Bread Patties, Pav Bhaji, dhokala, Vadapav, Missalpav, Matar Paneer, Chicken Masala, Biryani, White Gravy, Red Gravy, Gulabjamun, and Pineapple Sheera, etc. Participants of the training were selected based on an interview. The trainers also conducted session on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product.
