714 ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN: Rally and Poster Exhibition in Antop Hill

Mumbai, 15-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a rally and a poster exhibition on the occasion of ‘Independence day’ in the Bhartiya Kamala Nagar slum in Antop Hill. The theme of event was ‘Smoking is injurious to health’. The event was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited. 

The objective of the event was to educate people on the harmful effects of tobacco and to help people abstain from consuming tobacco. More than 800 children, men & women from the slums, along with the staff, teachers and volunteers participated in the rally. They marched all over the slum shouting slogans, carrying placards and speaking to people on tobacco effects to educate people living in the slum. The rally started from Kamala market area and ended in Bharani Naka. Before the rally a poster exhibition was held for the people of the area. Ms. Akila Ansari (Staff - DBDS) along with her team did all the logistical arrangements.
