716 ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN: Rally and Street Play In Ashok Nagar

Mumbai, 15-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a rally and a street play in Ashok Nagar slum. The theme of this event was ‘Smoking is injurious to health’ and it was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited. 

The objective of the event was to educate people on the harmful effects of tobacco and to help people abstain from consuming tobacco. More than 250 children, men & women from the slum participated in the rally which marched all over the slum shouting slogans, carrying placards and speaking to people on harmful effects of tobacco.

The rally started from Ashok Nagar and ended at Wire gully in Sakinaka. At the end of the rally a street play was presented by ‘ABCD theatres’ on ‘Quit smoking’. Ms. Zarina Khan (Staff - DBDS) made the logistical arrangement for this event.
