717 ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN: Rally and Street Play in Sakinaka

Mumbai, 15-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a rally and a street play in Ajmeri Masjid slum in Sakinaka. The theme of the event was ‘Quit Smoking’. The event was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

The objective of the event was to educate people on the harmful effects of tobacco and to help people abstain from consuming tobacco. More than 300 children, men & women from the slum participated in the rally which marched all over the slum shouting slogans, carrying placards and speaking to people on harmful effects of tobacco. 

The rally started from Ajmeri Masjid area and ended at Galli No. 3 in Ghatkoper. At the end of the rally a street play was presented by ‘ABCD theatres’ on ‘Quit smoking’. Ms. Zarina Khan (Staff - DBDS) made the logistical arrangement for this event.
