722 RURAL BIO GAS PROJECT AT AHMEDNAGAR

Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), August 2019: The Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, has been successfully implementing the ‘Rural Biogas Project’ in the districts of Ahmednagar and Beed. The project is fully supported by Don Bosco Mondo (Bonn, Germany). The total target of the project is to complete 160 units and till date 32 biogas units have been completed – fully functional.

Fr. Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - Don Bosco Development Society) personally visited the beneficiaries of the project and was very impressed with usefulness of the Biogas. Mrs. Swati Sandeep Dhalpe from Bhatodi village, one of the most recent beneficiaries said that due to the usage of Biogas lot of time is being saved, the cutting of the trees has been reduced. She is also getting a good compost for the agricultural purpose. She was extremely grateful to BGVK for its support.

Fr. George D’Abreo (Director – BGVK) said, “biogas has been a blessing for the women because they have been relieved from collecting wood, face the smoke while cooking”. He also expressed his gratitude towards DBDS and Don Bosco Mondo for their support.
