Chinchwad (Pune), 21-Aug-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a free health and eye check-up camp for the residents of Indira Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 133 (85 women, 31 Male and 17 children) people were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

A team of doctors and Para professionals from Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital and H.V. Desai Hospital consisting of Dr. Subhash Munot (MBBS), Dr. Sharad Shinde (Ophthalmologist) along with two Nurses, one Medical Social worker examined the patients. B.P, Blood Sugar level, and oral cancer detection tests were done for all the patients. Most of the patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections etc.

Free medicines for the people with illness were distributed and people with defective eyesight were given spectacles at a huge discounted price. Few patients were also referred to Aditya Birla Hospital and H.V. Desai Hospitals for further treatment. Mrs. Sarika Kadam (Staff- DBDS) did all the logistical arrangement and canvassing for this health camp.
