Chinchwad (Pune), 10-Sept-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a free health and eye check-up camp for the residents of Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 134 (86 women, 38 Male and 10 children) people were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

A team of doctors and Para professionals from Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital and H.V. Desai Hospital consisting of Dr. Aanjali Soni, Dr. Sharad Shinde and Dr. Bodake Santosh (Ophthalmologist) along with one Nurse, one Medical Social worker examined the patients. B.P, Blood Sugar level, and oral cancer detection tests were done for all the patients. Most of the patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections etc.

Eight cataract patients were identified in this camp who will be treated free of cost in H.V. Desai Hospital. Free medicines for the people with illness were distributed and people with defective eyesight were given spectacles at discounted price. Few patients were also referred to Aditya Birla Hospital and H.V. Desai Hospitals for further treatment. Mrs. Vibhawari Kamble (Staff- DBDS) did all the logistical arrangement and canvassing for this health camp.
