772 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Income Generation Training in Antop Hill

Mumbai, 25-Sept-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a two-day training workshop on ‘phenyl and detergent making’ for 44 women residing in Sangam Nagar slum in Antop Hill. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

Mr. Babasaheb Kharat was the resource person for this workshop. Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer - DBDS) welcomed the resource person and the participants and explained the objectives of the training. During the training, the participants learnt to make eight different kinds of products. These products included phenyl, detergent, hi-tech powder, hand wash, dish wash, floor cleaner, toilet cleaner and dress shampoo.

After this training Mr. Pradeep Moon trained women on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. Raw material was also distributed to participants to help them in starting their business. Many of the participants expressed their desire to start a business at a small level. Ms. Akila Ansari (Staff-DBDS) along with the DBDS team mobilized women to attend the training programme. She also proposed the vote of thanks.
