Chinchwad (Pune), 21-Sept-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a five days training workshop on Bakery products making skills for 20 Self-Help Group (SHG) women from Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad. This training was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the families connected to this project. The training was held in association with ‘Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya’ which is a government recognized training institution.

Mrs. Vasudha Dalvi (Sr. Technical staff) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (Jr. Technical Staff) were the resource persons. During the training 15 different kinds of bakery product were taught to participants. These included bread, maska pav, pizza base, Donut, butter biscuit, ajwin biscuit, hide & seek, wheat biscuit, coconut biscuit, Nankatai, black forest cake, doll cake, tea time cake and pineapple cake etc. Participants of the training were selected based on an interview. The trainers also conducted session on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product.
