784 Phenyl and Liquid Soap Making Training for Slum Women

Koregaon Park (Pune), 19-Sept-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Koregaon Park organized a Liquid soap and phenyl making training at Shastrinagar slum in Yerwada, Pune. 26 Self-Help Group women all residing in the slums participated in this training program.

The program started with the welcome address by Mr Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator-DBDS). The staff presented a bouquet to Mrs Fathima Amrin (AXA Business Services), Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - DBDS) and Ms Sharmeen to welcome them to the training programme. Fr Rolvin shared the philosophy of DBDS behind the development work and extended his full support to the participants in helping them to establish small businesses.

Ms. Nilima Chandhere (Staff-DBDS) was the resource person for the training. She demonstrated the process to prepare Phenyl, Liquid soap, Hand wash, Toilet Cleaner and Dish wash. Participants actively participated in this training program. Snacks were served during the break. Mrs. Priya Sonawane (Staff-DBDS) and Mrs Leena Gaikwad (Staff-DBDS) did the logistical arrangement and organized women to participate in the program. Program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Priya Sonawane (Staff-DBDS).
