793 FREE HEALTH CAMP FOR SLUM RESIDENTS

Mumbai, 2-Oct-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), organized a free health and eye check-up camp for the women and children residing in Kesar baug slum in Dadar (East). 116 patients (19 children, 45 men and 52 women) were examined by the doctor in this camp which was supported by Association of Auxilium India (Seregno – Italy); Special Thanks to: MONS BRUNO MOLINARI E PARROCCHIA S. GIUSEPPE.

Mr. Sunil Pandhare (Staff -DBDS) welcomed the doctors and their Para-medical staff. The objective of this health camp was to provide needed medical care to patients. Dr Abhishek Jandade, Mr. Pramod Bhadavalkar and Mr. Sam along with 4 Nursse and 3 Medical Social workers from Fortis Hospital examined the patients during this health camp. Patients were screened for vision problems. Blood tests (Sugar, CBC) were also done for patients.
The doctors distributed iron, vitamin tablets and skin ointment to patients who were anaemic and suffering from skin infections.

Women from Mauli and Sai Shambhu Self-Help Group members helped in logistical arrangement such as putting up chairs and tables, arranging water, visiting families in slums and informing them about the health camp and in managing the crowd. Local people were very happy with this health camp and praised the efforts of Auxilium India (Seregno – Italy). Mrs. Sneha Kalate (volunteer) proposed the vote of thanks at the end.
