805 AXA PROJECT: World Girl Child Day Celebrations in Pune

Koregaon Park (Pune), 11-Oct-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune celebrated the World Girl Child day with 54 girl students of Nanasaheb Parulekar Kanya Prashala in Vishrantwadi. The program was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

Miss Prashanti Thorat from AXA Business Services was the guest of honour. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Staff-DBDS) welcomed the delegates and the students and gave information on various activities of DBDS. Speaking on the occasion Miss Prashanti shared her views on the importance of girl child and their contribution to society. Mr. Mormare (School Teacher) praised the efforts of Don Bosco Development Society and assured his full cooperation in such activities.

On this occasion Mrs. Lalita Chaudhari (Staff-DBDS) conducted a session on ‘Adolescent health issues and reproductive health’. In her lecture she covered important topics of Physical changes during adolescent age, female menstruation, hygiene, female reproductive system, stress, healthy habits, balance diet, importance of sports, exercises etc.

Miss Nilima Chandhere (Staff-DBDS) spoke to the students on the topic of health and nutrition, confidence building, emotional intelligence and communication. Mrs. Savita Pawar (School Principal) and number of other school teachers also participated in the program.

Miss Prashanti interacted with girls and motivated them on their academic growth and communication with parents. Snacks and Sanitary pads were then distributed to all the girls present for the session. The program ended with the vote of thanks.
