814 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Income Generation Training in Antop Hill

Mumbai, 14-Oct-2018: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a two days training workshop on ‘Fancy Candle Making’ for 30 women from Modona colony slum in Antop hill under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on fancy candle making as micro business for supplementary income to the families connected with this project. Mrs. Manjula Bhagawat was the resource person. Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer-DBDS) welcomed the resource person and participants and informed them about the purpose of the training.

During the training the participants learnt to make 4 different Items-Ice candle, Gel candle, Wax candle and Floating candle. The participants were also taught marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. The participants dedicatedly learnt the skills and were determined to start a small business. The event ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Akila Ansari (Staff-DBDS).
