822 INCOME GENERATION TRAINING FOR SLUM WOMEN

Chinchwad (Pune), 18-Oct-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a 3-days training workshop on ‘Fast-food Catering Business’ for 20 Self-Help Group (SHG) women from Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad. This training was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 

The objective of this training was to provide supplementary income source for women connected to this project. The training was held in association with Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya (KMKGV) which is a government recognized training institution.

Mrs. Samindra Thite (KMKGV - Jr. Technical staff) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (KMKGV - Sr. Technical Staff) were the resource persons. During the training 12 different kinds of snacks were taught to participants. These included Bread Sandwich, Bread Pizza, Bread Cheese Roll, Nuggets, French Roll, Pizza, Burger, Franky, Veg Cutlet, Aloo Tikky, Kutchi Dabeli, Pizza Sauce, Green Chattni, etc. Participants of the training were selected based on an interview. The trainers also conducted session on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product.
