Nashik (Maharashtra), Nov-2019: The students of the Master of Philosophy programme from Divyadaan participated in the 44th Annual ACPI (Association of Christian Philosophers of India) seminar held at St Joseph Vaz Spiritual Retreat Centre, Old Goa, from 23rd to 25th October 2019.

The research seminar was focused on the theme, “Philosophizing Science: Promises, Perils and Possibilities” and more than 20 research scholars presented their papers during the course of the 3-days seminar. There were about 87 participants from all over India, including seven students from Divyadaan accompanied by their Principal and two staff members.

The students of Divyadaan showed great interest in the theme while reading the drafts of the presentations, prior to the seminar. Two of our students, namely Jins Joseph and Hubert Lyndoh, got the opportunity to share their critical response to Francis Arackal’s, “Artificial Intelligence: Prospects and Perils,” and Ivan D’Souza’s, “Science in Hinduism: Facts, Myths and Politics.” Most students agreed that it was a great learning experience to participate in a national seminar and to learn about the close relationship between science and philosophy.

Fr Banzelao Teixeira (Principal – Divyadaan) expressed his gratitude towards DON BOSCO MISSION, Bonn – Germany for sponsoring the entire ‘capacity building’ project for the future Salesian leaders of India.
