927 Christmas Celebrations for Around 800 Farmers Kids in Ahmednagar

Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) 22-Dec-2019: The Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a Christmas celebrations (cum Annual Day) for the students who are the beneficiaries of the ‘Village Education Project’. Altogether 798 kids of poor farmers participated in the programme which was fully supported by Kindermissionswerk (Aachen, Germany).

Fr. Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - Don Bosco Development Society) was the Chief Guest for the programme. He in his inaugural speech thanked Kindermissionswerk for their support and he also placed on record his sincere thanks to all the Children Carol Singers in Germany for their help in raising funds for this project. Mr. Vishwas Sonawale (Associate – Tata Power Community Development Trust), Mr Anna Motte (Sarpanch Shanjapur) were the other dignitaries present.

There was a magic show organized for these kids, the magician then mesmerized the little impressionable minds for over an hour. Besides being surprised with some spot prizes, the children were also treated to a sumptuous fellowship meal.

The second half of the day was the cultural festival – celebrating the diversity of India. This cultural event included colorful cultural feast of traditional, contemporary and folk dances some of which dealt with pertinent social themes. The Christmas Celebrations ended by giving every child a small gift and by capturing the moment with group photos.

Fr George D’Abreo (Director – BGVK) in his vote of thanks specially thanked Kindermissionswerk and Don Bosco Mission as well for their support not only for this programme but also for sponsoring the entire project. He also thanked all the teachers who teach these kids daily.
